Location: Shaws Building, St Mellons, Cardiff
Duration : 18 months Fixed Contract (1 months notice) Job Purpose
Dwr Cymru Welsh Wa! ter (DCWW) has initiated a Business lead programme of work (NEWID) to introduce a new billing system which will replace its legacy CAS mainframe-based system and associated satellite applications with a leading Billing application that is in use within the UK water industry.
Information Security within the programme - The implementation of the new system has consequential impacts on other existing systems in use within the business and the system will support a vital part of our operations. A work stream has been identified and requires a PM to lead to manage the security and assurance aspects of the billing system implementation in order to ensure that risks are identified and managed appropriately and in compliance with good practices, legislative and regulatory requirements.
Reporting to the NEWID Business Programme Lead , the Workstream Lead will work in partnership with other key project and business stakeholders to ensure the programme is in accordance with Gr! oup wide Security & Information Security policies.
The ide! al candidate will have a proven experience in providing the necessary security advice and guidance along with delivering Information Security procedures. You will have proven Project Management experience relating to Infrastructure projects, extensive experience in Project management & Information Security principles, techniques & infrastructure related information security projects.
Your experience will ensure you have an understanding of Security Standard ISO/IEC27001:2005 and/ or other security certification and preferably hold ITIL and/or Prince2 or other Management accreditation.
You will hold the responsibility for the management of the planning, resourcing and the monitoring of tasks and deliverables within the Work stream, which includes managing and reporting up to the Work stream budget. Principal Accountabilities

  • Work collaboratively with NEWID Project team, DCC IT and Information Security staff (BIS), external suppliers and key business stak! eholders to ensure the programme is in accordance with Group wide Security & Information Security policies.
  • Drive all aspects of Project delivery from initiation to closure ensuring that key time, quality and cost milestones are achieved;
  • Actively support company policy and best practice in the area of security, with particular emphasis on the protection of sensitive customer and other information;
  • Contribute to the planning and allocation of resources to meet the needs of projects, taking into account the needs of internal staff and the availability of external partners;
  • Conduct regular project team meetings with key internal and external stakeholders as appropriate to ensure that the project stays on track, communicating required outcomes, risks and tasks as required to drive project progress ;
  • Utilise your good understanding of ISO/IEC27001:2005 (audits, processes and methods of working) to deliver tasks.
  • Collaborate ! effectively with external BIS and NEWID partners to ensure that project! success is achieved and maximum value for money is achieved from investment;
  • Provide advice and expert knowledge regarding information security , Secure Development Lifecycle, anti-virus techniques, network security, vulnerability assessment, forensic readiness, operating procedures and monitoring.
  • Be an enthusiastic, ambassadorial and valued member of the project team, ensuring that the division becomes a valued and essential business partner to DCWW during the NEWID Programme.

  • Management Reporting to the IT Programme Managers and other forums as required
  • Frequent status reporting of the Project portfolio
