Our Member organisations are great at engaging young people and improving their lives and their communities, but often lack the skills, knowledge and strategic experience to become stronger, more effective and sustainable. By! sharing what you know you can leave them in a better position than you found them; helping them to reach and improve the lives of disadvantaged young people for years to come.
sported. volunteers support our Members to identify where they want to be and help them to get there. A volunteer can undertake short- or long-term placements, depending upon the specific needs of the Member.
Your work could include: facilitating discussions, visioning, reflection and self-assessment; helping to identify realistic goals; supporting planning; helping with implementation; supporting income, expenditure and funding plans.
Occasionally our volunteers might take on more ad hoc short placements - answering specific queries or providing short-term support in your area of professional expertise. The most common requests for support from our Members to date have related to: identifying funding avenues and writing successful bids; asset transfer or facility ma! nagement; organisational structure and governance; accounting ! and tax; reviewing documents; marketing and PR; and monitoring and evaluation.
Every placement is different but our longer term placements typically require about two to four hours of work per fortnight, for 3-6 months.
