The Job
Purpose of Position
The role involves being a key player within the SV team, working in the team responsible for ensuring delivery of an optimally designed solution with respect to all aspects for Platform Mobility Systems. The role involves utilising their Engineering knowledge, skills and experience. The role requires close liaison and co-operation with system engineering and integration subject matter experts along with platform & domain expertise residing in wider businesses. The role involves being a team player capable of working with a multi-national engineering team and the customer community. The senior engineer is required to work across geographical and cultural divides to draw together a comprehensive engineering capability that will derive a balanced system solution.
Responsibilities
Be a key member of the ! Mobility team responsible for defining and maturing the Automo! tive architecture of SV at a system level including:
Engine, Gearbox, Running, Gear, Tracks, Cooling systems, Fuel System, APU, Hydraulic power subsystems
Mobility risk and opportunities management
Support the collation of subcontractor Mobility SOW’s
Responsible for mobility and deployability compliance at a system level
Responsible for system level deployability requirements
Understand the mobility and deployability requirements of the complete SV system
Specify the Mobility and deployability of the complete vehicle system
Support the generation of the Automotive subsystem system views within the Artisan model
Define the impact of automotive systems on all other subsystems to support the derivation of requirements (ie ECS, vibration induced by track, waste heat impact etc)
Define the impact and provide derived requirements for subsystems affected by the deployability requirements
Flow down and apportion all Mobility and deployability requirements to subsystems and components
Responsible for the collation of automotive system and deployability ICD’s
Review all automotive subsystem documentation
Manage and define system level automotive simulation and modelling
Generation of all system level deployability design documentation including modelling and simulation
Manage changes of the Mobility and Deployability requirements and subsystems
Education/Experience
A degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant or associated degree to the role
A proven track record in the design and development of platforms from concept through to series production Experience of engineering platform designs against performance and reliability targets
Experience of defining and evaluating platform requirements
Contemporary knowledge of existing and emerging technologies in the ar! eas of automotive, survivability and vetronic systems
A proven! track record in the development of platform principle sub-systems
Ability to liaise with and present information to multidisciplined team members
Ability to interpret mechanical design requirements and propose appropriate design solutions
Excellent presentation, verbal and written skills
Excellent influencing and negotiation skills
Excellent customer relationship skills
Exemplary team player
Familiarity and experience with Human Factors techniques and tools (Task Analyses, workload tools, Human Error).
