Welfare Reform Support Officer

Location: Cwmbran Wales

Description: BRC is at present looking to employ Welfare Reform Support Officer right now, this occupation will be placed in Wales. The aim of the role will be to contribute to the provision of an effective customer focused tenancy advice service through co-ordinating and delivering a targeted and personalised support service to enable residents to move to more affordable alternative accommodation.

Key responsibilities include undertaking research into under occupation issues, identify households that are under occupying and establishing procedures for the successful delivery of an under-occupation scheme. You will also be required to provide advice and support to those residents seeking to downsize and making necessary arrangements associated with relocating.

The following experience is required for this role:
Previous relevant experience of working with a cross section of service users, some of whom may be vulnerable Sound working knowledge of housing management services and legislation, in particular a thorough understanding of the forthcoming welfare reforms Ability to monitor, analyse and report performance management information, including budgets Experience of partnership arrangements and working in a multi-agency environment Experience of supervising and managing staff Demonstrate assertiveness and sensitivity in dealing with difficult and complex cases Relevant housing/professional qualification or equivalent through experience Experience of policy development and implementation Experience of developing and maintaining effective customer focused services
