Salary Range £29,000 - £31,500

Background:
The above full time vacancy has arisen within the Design Department based with the Technology Centre. Applications are invited from suitably qualified, experienced, skilled personnel, with suitable demonstrated experience in a manufacturing environment.
Reporting to the Senior Engineer the successful candidate will be self motivated and possess excellent communication and organisation skills and be a key member in supporting and improving the department’s activities.
Primary Responsibilities of the Role Include:
q To work in accordance with company procedures, work and operating instructions; which comply with the requirements of TS 16949. q To develop products that meets the performance, durability and payout specified by the customer / client Standards. q To use engineering tools and techniques to ensure design quality assurance is achieved. q To investigate failure modes and causes, suggesting possible countermeasures. q Interface between R & D and internal / external customers. q To actively pursue and take ownership of tasks meet the functional objective targets / commitments. q To contribute continuous improvement ideas that will help increase the efficiency of the department / organisation. q Use company software systems / packages to support design release process and customer requirements. q To carry out benchmarking and cost reduction activities.
Other Requirements and Skills:
q Experience of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics is desirable q Possess a mechanical engineering degree or similar q Experience of design projects within the automotive industry is desirable q To be flexible with working hours and shift pattern changes in response to business needs. q Respond readily to requests which require flexibility, mobility & overtime support. q There will be a requirement to travel as part of the role to other client sites as required. q Task orientated to ensure that daily tasks are completed on time. q Posses the ability to write reports. q Ability to speak French/Spanish/German desirable
