The Company:
A consulting firm with offices across the UK. The business has chosen to centralise a team that focuses on personal tax compliance and this opportunity sits in this area.
The Role:
This is a management role working in a centralised processing centre where you will lead a team ofone full time manager, one assistant manager and 3 assistants, supported by others from an advisory team.
Core Duties:
Management of the staff including recruitment, performance management, development of individuals and determining the likely staff requirement for the compliance season each year
Assuming responsibility for risk management, quality control, review procedures, technical developments and the setting of policies within the team.
Introduction of new processes specific to this area of the business which enable work to be monitored and for a standardisation o! f work being received and a standard product being provided to! the client teams
Monitoring of financials including establishment of fee streams, control of charging function, identification of incorrect recharges
Working alongside the Compliance Leader as technical adviser on tax return software issues, changes in processes, and general compliance matters.
The Candidate:
You should have extensive personal tax experience gained ideally in a Big 4 or mid-tier private client department or processing centre and will have the ability to build, lead and manage a team of people. In addition you should have strong communication skills and an ability to liaise effectively with teams around the UK.
