We are looking for an experienced planning professional to lead work on different projects including a wide range of large infrastructure projects and urban mixed use development. Role
- The right candidate shou ld be capable of promoting the practice, looking for cross selling opportunities and building its own professional network of contacts
- They will help cover Arup’s development management requirements across both the South West and Welsh markets
- to enable projects via the development process -working with other built environmental professionals to deliver successful outcomes
- oversee/project manage the delivery of all levels and types of planning applications for clients, including major and complex applications in growth markets including energy, water, transport, residential and mixed use schemes.
- Co-ordinating the inputs from multi-disciplinary teams preparing applications and working with consultation specialis! ts
- Oversee the development of a small team of planner! s
- Undertake and support policy research when necessary
- Undertake condition negotiation, modification and discharge management for large projects Requirements
- The successful candidate would have experience of both development management and planning policy development and evaluation, ideally in a consultancy environment
- Experience in urban regeneration, masterplanning and in creating successful delivery models and partnerships would be an advantage.
- Sufficient experience to comfortably mentor existing employees.
- Commercial project delivery skills and experience of managing the financial aspects of planning projects.
- experience of the promotion of sustainable design through the development management process.
- The candidate should have an excellent working knowledge of planning legislation, associated circulars, guidance and regulation.
- Must be a chartered town planner and a member of the RTPI.
