My client is a leading UK Civil Engineering and Build Contractors with an enviable delivery record in the UK, excelling in working on t! echnically challenging power, rail, road, waste and environmental projects. Their turnover will exceed 300million this year and they have a secure order book of exciting projects.
Due to the pipeline of future work and expected bid opportunities a fantastic opportunity has arisen within their business for a Project Director specifically to concentrate on major Highways projects, bidding and delivering, throughout the UK. Reporting into a Contracts Director you will be responsible for leading a major highways project from inception, through to delivery and completion.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Manager or Project Director to make positive contribution to a business that sees fantastic future opportunity in a growing highways market.
PROJECT DIRECTOR GREATER SOUTH WALES £80 - 95K + PACKAGE NEW BUILD ROAD
Key objectives will include:
- Overseeing the successful delivery of projects to! scope, target cost, quality, programme and completion encompa! ssing design, engineering, construction, handover and commercial aspects
- Implement a full risk and value engineering management process where all risks and cost savings opportunities are identified and actioned.
- Ensure that project imperatives are clearly communicated and understood throughout the project and to others, as appropriate
- Provide direction, motivation and leadership to internal and Joint Venture staff and external consultants or contractors engaged in providing technical support activities to the project
- Responsible for all safety, health, environment and quality matters including driving excellence and continuous improvement
- Experience with a UK Main Contractor in the highways sector and have delivered a new build project worth in excess of 50million in value for either the Highways Agency or the Welsh Assembly.
- You will hold a degree in Civil Engineering and ideally b! e chartered with the ICE.

They have won a lot of construction schemes and projects in the Midlands and North West and are looking for a strong Project Director to look after their highways and roads division.
