Social Workers â€" Children in Need team - salary up t! o £33,011*
The Children in Need Team was established! in December 2011 to provide a clear care pathway for children in need and children in need of protection. Receiving referrals from the Child Care Assessment Team, the team manages all children whose names are on the Child Protection Register and manages all Care Proceedings. It is also responsible for Children in Need cases which meet the required threshold. Following a recent review of capacity, additional posts have been created to ensure that social workers have realistic caseloads and that there is an appropriate level of supervisory/managerial support available.
There is a robust system of review in place to ensure that all care plans are routinely monitored and that the appropriate service is offered. With significant developments in preventative and follow on services there are a number of options for exiting the service which ensures that there is a regular throughput of work.
As a social worker in the team, your caseload will depend on your exper! ience and where possible you will be encouraged to develop any special interests that you have.
