An exciting opportunity has arisen for highly motivated Shift Supervisor to join the Operations and Maintenance team at a large Offshore Windfarm based of the coast in Wales.
The Shift Supervisorâs main focus is to manage the Technicians that operate and maintain the wind farm.
Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities
- Co-ordinate and control the maintenance and operation of the wind farm plant and associated equipment to achieve safe, efficient operation whilst complying with legal, company and local policies and procedures.
- Act as Safety controller under Wind Turbine Safety Rules and Safety co-ordinator
- Developing and mentoring staff
- Assist in the broader management of the wind farm, contributing to policy and procedures whilst ensuring compliance.
- Management of CMMS and associated works control! li>
- Marine manifesto management
- Recording and mon! itoring access of staff and contractors at wind farm sites
- Provide an effective interface between Renewables departments STPM, NGET Distribution Network Operators (DNOâs) and others
- Manage output, forecast and instruction in liaison with Output Management
- Front Line Emergency Co-ordination
- Analysis of PCM outputs to promote pre-emptive maintenance
- Utilise a range of standard and bespoke computer application
- Review plant performance and output against agreed KPIâs
- Ensure appropriate authorisations and safety paperwork available prior to release of plant.
- Monitor weather forecast and agree generation schedules for wind plant to maximise commercial benefits
- Monitor and report on plant performance
- Create and maintain work procedures and other local documentation
- Willingness to work offshore with other team members as required
- Provide back up support for other control ! locations for business continuity purposes
- Demonstrate a flexible approach to work and be prepared to work alone or to lead or be part of a small multi-disciplined team
- Demonstrate good communication skills and cross functional working
- Ability to maintain quality under peak workloads
- Have the capacity to manage a demanding and fluctuating workload
- Demonstrate a good level of numeracy and literacy skills
- Assist other team members as required and promote high quality working within the team
- Work to a high standard with minimal supervision
- Own and work towards fulfilling an agreed personal development plan and demonstrate a willingness to learn
Ideally candidates should have the following skill set (though training will be provided if required):
- Strong Supervisory experience in the maintenance and \ or operati! ons function in the Wind industry.
- Have a strong working knowl! edge of plant control and monitoring systems
- Good commercial and electricity trading awareness and experience running contracts as a Technical Officer
- Experience as a safety controller under ESI safety rules systems
- Have experience of using computerised maintenance management systems
- Have excellent safety and environmental awareness
- Good communications, numeracy and IT skills
