An Enforcement Officer is required to work in the friendly but busy Environmental Health's General Team for 3 days a week (22.2 hours) on a fixed term basis until 31/03/2019.
You will help to improve the health, well-being and quality of life of existing and future generations within the County Borough, by using a variety of interventions including encouragement and partnership working, progressing through to warnings and enforcement action.
You will enforce environmental protection legislation to tackle enviro-crimes such as dog fouling, littering, fly-tipping, abandoned vehicles etc. You will serve fixed penalty notices, investigate enviro-crimes, collect evidence, undertake formal interviews, take statements, collate prosecutions files and occasionally give evidence in court.
The workload is demanding and requires you to have a toolbox of skills to address the many and varied situations you will deal with on a day to day basis.
You must hold a full driving license. Your skills will be challenged, and you will be kept busy.
Flexible working hours are in operation but you must be prepared to work outside these hours to undertake duties as and when required.
