Grade 9 or 10: £45,486 - £55,908 p.a
The School of Social Sciences at Bangor is seeking to appoint a Director of Social Work to lead its new M.A. in Social Work. The Director will provide academic and professional leadership in Social Work education and will be responsible for the postgraduate qualifying route at Bangor, and for the development of CPD and post-qualifying programmes. It is an essential requirement that the appointee should have the ability to communicate in Welsh.
S/he will provide the academic and professional leadership for Social Work education in Bangor and will undertake teaching at postgraduate level and research supervision. The individual will show an understanding of the importance of the Research Excellence Framework, a willingness to collaborate in research development activities and a commitment to further build capacity in social care and social work research in the School. The successful applicant must be a qualified social worker with a postgraduate qualification.
The appointee will contribute towards the collaborative agenda of the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol in the area of postgraduate social work education.
The appointment will be full time fixed term for 5 years in the first instance, from 24th September 2012 or as soon as possible after that date.
Salary will be on the appropriate grade dependant on experience.
