My client is a global specialty chemicals and materials company focused on developing, manufacturing and selling value-added products serving a diverse range of end markets including aerospace, adhesives, automotive and industrial coatings, inks, mining and plastics. Listed on the NY Stock exchange and employing c5800 people worldwide, revenue is in excess of $3b USD.
Further to continued growth, an outstanding opportunity has now arisen for a Senior Capital Projects Manager, reporting to the Director of Global Capital Projects.
This pivotal role will manage the execution of all manufacturing facility projects, both "grass root" and expansion based (typical project values $50-100m).
Key contribution areas include:
- Lead a team of 5-10 direct team members with operational control of 5-10 additional functional team members consistent with the overall project size and scope. In addition, manage all associated third party activiti! es (e.g. project controls consultants, A/E firms, construction! management personnel etc.).
- Facility layout and design, equipment specification, installation though mechanical completion, commissioning, start-up, and qualification.
- Utilisation of other capital best practices as appropriate (e.g. constructability reviews, value engineering sessions, risk analysis and management, change control, schedule compression techniques).
- Oversee the procurement process to include the RFQ, bid review and tabulation, vendor selection, and the purchasing agreement terms and conditions negotiations.
- Delivery of the projects scope in a timely manner and within the projects budget and documented schedule duration.
- Timely completion of project action items as identified in safety, design, and project reviews and audits.
You will have a substantial track record of executing Large Capital Projects with the Process Industry sector, or similar (e.g. Power Generation).
