Syntax Engineering is currently recruiting in South Glamorgan for Electrical Maintenance Fitters to maintain a fleet of rolling stock vehicles.
Candidates must be from a! Rail background and have relevant qualifications, along with electrical fault finding and diagnostics experience on large engines. All candidates will have to undertake a drugs and alcohol related medical. Applicants must be flexible in their approach and reliable as the depot operates 24/7. They also operate continental shift pattern of 4 on 4 off days and nights.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
Advising the Team Leaders of completed maintenance and defects found on locomotives
Recording information on examination signing off sheets
Understanding data displayed in TOPS and SPEAR, and the safety implications of any tasks carried out
Awareness of depot geography and safety procedures following the loco simplifier and allocating locomotives to specific diagrams.
Applicants should have a good mechanical understanding, and be computer literate.
Further duties may include:
Directing drivers on! arrival
Interrogate TOPS and SPEAR to establish what! maintenance is required
Carry out maintenance to the pattern determined by TOPS
Report to Team Leaders any repairs that fall outside of your routine maintenance
Strategically positioning locomotives for easy departure following the loco simplifier:
Instructing drivers which locomotives are available for service.
Salary: £15 Ltd per Hour Hours: 40.5 approx.
