Internal Customer Service / Sales Engineer

Within the role the main responsibility will be working with the Customer Service Manager and the General Manager (PCL) to support all aspects of customer service to ensure nominated key accounts are continually receiving exceptional service (lead times, quality, quotes and quote follow ups to secure work and help plan service visits.
As well as the above activities the role will also involve;
1- Ensuring that new parts, first time orders are booked in, in line with the quote and ARM’d as necessary.
2- Post proc! ess validating the actual costs v the quoted price on all firs! t time orders and raise any price concerns to the Customer Service Manager and GM in the first instance.
3- Support training of the customer service apprentice.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible to the Customer Service Manager for all day to day activities and the General Manager for on-site matters. Key responsibilities are;
1. Be the direct customer contact (nominated accounts)
2. Review enquires with the Customer Service Manager and SMT as required to assess for suitability to quote.
3. Contact customers to clear up any enquiry concerns.
4. Prepare draft quote for review by Customer Service Manager, SMT and Director of Sales as required.
5. Ensure the quotation is prepared and submitted to the Customer on time.
6. Follow up selected quotes within 5 working days of submission, update quote system and advise any declines to the Customer Service Manager and Director of Sales as required so that a follo! w up response can be agreed.
7. Validate all first time orders to ensure that the quoted price and margins have been achieved and advise the sales and account management teams accordingly.
8. Overseeing a comprehensive review of any first time orders that have failed to meet the quoted price and margins and working with the sales and account teams to understand how these prices can be adjusted for profitability.
9. Support the training and development of the Customer Service Apprentice.
CANDIDATE:
The ideal candidate will be a team player with the experience and confidence to be the key interface between nominated key customers and internal teams (sales, customer service, production & quality).
A good understanding of basic engineering, process application methods and commercial planning is essential.
Smart and able to deal face to face with customers as required.
BASED:
- Poeton Cardiff office and process f! acility.
- Customer Service ! Manager.
- The candidate will also have some communication and responsibility lines to PCL General Manager and the Director of Sales as required.
- 08.00 to 4.30pm. Permanent full time, additional hours to support customer needs as required.

- Manufacturing and /or process engineering qualification.
- M! anufacturing / Process costing and estimation experience. (A general working knowledge of surface treatments would be an advantage but not essential.)

- Computer literate â€" Microsoft Office.
- Team Player
- Good negotiation skills.
- Some sales based experience desirable but not essential.
